The white glass dog with black painted spots is depicted in a landscape created by a papered ground and backdrop standing on a raised mould depicting grass within a wood framed glass box.

Reference: Lauscha, in the German state of Thuringen, began making Christmas baubles in the 17th Century.

Christmas decorations became fashionable after a picture of Queen Victoria's Christmas tree, covered in Glass ornaments from Germany, was printed in 1846.
