Kershaw Schofield was born in Bradford, West Yorkshire in 1872. A landscape and Still life painter in oils and watercolours, he exhibited widely including work at the Royal Academy, Birmingham City Gallery, The Walker Gallery Liverpool, The Manchester City Gallery as well as at local exhibitions and Galleries.
The present painting "The Edge of the Wood" is an oil painting on board measuring 14"x 18". It is signed lower left and is in a good period "Watts" gilt frame giving an overall size of 22"x 26".
