Chinese early 18th century Kangxi Mark and Period Small deep foliated edged Plate made at Jingdezhen.
Painted in underglaze blue to show to Mongol warriors on horse back in a wooded and grassy landscape'. The warriors are brandishing swords and scimitars. The outside  on the cavetto and down the inside are panels alternating between mounted warriors and flowers growing off rock work. The panels are separated by the Buddhist 'wan pattern' the sign for peace.
The underside is painted with Ruyi clouds to the sides and to the base a double circle around a six character Kangxi Mark.  The mark is the correct mark for the period of Kangxi's reign
Excellent colour and subject matter with great characteristics shown both on horses faces and the warriors
