Japanese bronze okimono of a tiger, signed Yoshikuza, circa 1890, Meiji Period. The prowling tiger, well modelled, with his back slightly arched. His face particularly well observed, as he growls at his prey. The fur is finely delineated, beneath the original patination.
Signed Yoshikuza zen, in a seal to the underside.
Carved wood stand.
Length – 28 cm, 11”.
Height – 15.2 cm, 6”.
Depth – 12 cm, 4 3/4”.
Condition – Excellent. No damage. No repair.
This is a much more naturalistic study of a tiger, when compared to the frequently found examples made by Genryusai Seiya.
