An Imposing and Fine Quality Pair of Early 19th Century French Tole Peinte and Parcel Gilt Wall Lanterns with outstanding original finish.
French Early 19th Century - circa 1820
These extremely impressive unique wall lanterns of imposing scale have a wonderful original finish. Of frosted glass vase shaped form, the imbricated “fish scale” domes tops with gilt flambeau finials above pierced shallow friezes. The original mottled glass open to access what would have been a candelabra, now converted to electricity.
The backs again have a lovely original patination showing the age of these wonderfully decorative wall lanterns of French Empire design. Can be wired if necessary.
