An Impressive Marble and Gilt Bronze Mantel Clock.
In the Louis XVI Manner.
Constructed from a marble platform with a bronze group above; all confidently dressed with exquisite hand-chased and mercury gilded ormolu mounts, rising from three toupie feet, the oval platform with floral swags and emblems of Love; above, the ormolu figural group consisting of a Classical maiden and her two cherubs among swirling clouds; surrounding a blue and gold-star studded globe set with an annular dial demarcating the hours in Roman numerals, housing the movement.
