Compare with another netsuke formerly in the Bushell and Floyd Segel collections, its two sides visible by consulting the catalogues of their sales, Christie’s New York, 23rd April 1991, lot 183 and Sotheby’s Chicago, 7th July 1999, lot 107.
The hand is not identical, the carving of the present netsuke being more accomplished
