Hester Bateman Silver Cream Jug circa 1780.

A fine late eighteenth century silver helmet shape cream jug made circa 1780 by Hester Bateman of London. The jug stands on a square pedestal base and is plain with beaded borders. The jug is most unusual as it has been struck twice with the London town mark omitting the date letter (essentially an error by the London assay office). A lovely unusual jug.
