An Imposing 19th Century Carved Walnut Fire Surround with combined overmantel of large proportions standing over 8 1/2 feet high.

Scottish Circa 1860.

The carved breakfront moulded cornice sits above a rectangular fielded panel with carved foliate surround, flanked by carved winged cherubs and festoons. To either side bold stop fluted pillars are surmounted by carved masks raised on fielded panel plinths beside the re-entrant moulded and carved jambs, the mantle shelf above a cartouche and leaf spray carved tablet.

This wonderful chimney piece is of excellent quality with good original colour.  Impressive in scale and quality having an eclectic mix of Renaissance motifs and Georgian designs typical of the 19th Century.
