Watercolour on paper. Full length portrait of an officer of the Gordon Highlanders uniformed in glengarry, and field service dress comprising kilt with khaki drill apron. Signed and dated lower right ‘Arthur Jule Goodman 1917’.
Arthur Jule Goodman was an American portrait painter and illustrator, active in Detroit in 1877-78, and later in Boston and New York. He studied at the Académie Julian in Paris during 1903-13; and thereafter worked in Britain.
