Georgian Walnut Dressing Table Mirror.

A Good Quality And Very Attractive, Early 18th Century, George I Period. Walnut Dressing Table Mirror, Having Elegant Frame Enclosing Replacement Mirror Plate, Over Superbly Figured Three Drawer Box Base And Original Bracket Feet.

Dressing table mirrors, often referred to as “toilet mirrors” were made from the beginning of the 18th Century onwards.

Designed to sit atop a dressing table, or chest of drawers, in the bedroom or dressing room they are found in a huge variety of sizes, woods, shapes, sizes and qualities.

This example is particularly attractive and nice because it is relatively early when compared to most, dating to the early 18th Century and also it is constructed from a very attractive burr walnut which retains a lovely mellow colour and patina.

Although originally designed to sit on top of a dressing table it is of course most versatile and would suit a whole variety of locations around the home.

As is pretty much standard on these items the mirror plate  is replaced, but not brand absolutely brand new and it is therefore very much fit for its original purpose. Overall the item is in very good condition.

As with all the items which we offer for sale it has been naturally wax polished, in our workshops, by our highly skilled furniture restorers, before being offered for sale, ensuring that it is ready for immediate use.

Circa 1720.

Height 25in.
