Georgian Treen Apple Tea Caddy.

The Georgian Tea Caddy in the shape of an Apple is very attractive, and it exhibits great patination, a beautiful colour, and traces of the original tin-foil lining still remaining on the inside.

This apple features faintly painted green leaves to the top and a turned button stalk – a feature that is contemporary to the piece. As well as a fully-functioning lock and tasselled key, it has a cut steel hinge, a lock keep, and an oval escutcheon.

Circa 1800.
