An attractive 18th century Georgian miniature mahogany chest. Having two short and three long drawers with original turned wooden knobs. Raised on original shaped bracket feet.

Almost certainly made by an apprentice looking to showcase his skills to a prospective employer at an established cabinet making workshop, this georgian miniature chest of drawers has real charm and character to it.

Normally antique miniature furniture such as this was made either as an apprentice piece like mentioned above, or alternatively as a workshops scale model sample piece, for a travelling salesman to use when attempting to gain orders out on the road.

It would sit beautifully on top of a dressing table, or bedroom chest and come in extremely useful to store away those small bits and pieces which one does not want buried at the bottom of a larger drawer full of larger items.

As with all items which we offer for sale it has been attended to in our workshops, by our highly skilled traditional antique furniture restorers, to ensure the condition is good and that it is ready to be placed straight into the home before being offered for sale. Please note that the keyhole decoration is for show only, there are no locks in this piece, no has there ever been.

Circa 1770.

Height 11.5in.
Width 10.25in.
Depth 6.5in.
