Georgian Mahogany Bracket Clock by Scott, London.

Break arch top mahogany case surmounted by a single pad with brass carrying handle and four brass finials with red silk lined fishscale frets. Brass bound front door, standing on a raised, moulded base and resting on brass bracket feet.

Fine quality chain Fusee eight day movement with anchor escapement and border engraving to the brass plates, signed Scott, Tottenham Court Road. Striking the hours on a silvered bell with pendulum holdfast and pull repeat facility.

Silvered dial with Roman numerals, finely cut ‘blued’ steel hands signed Scott, Tottenham Court Road with subsidiary dials for strike / silent and calendar. Circa 1810.

Watchmakers and clockmakers of the world list James Amos Scott as working in London from circa 1809-1816.
