18th Century Mahogany Rectangular Tea Caddy.

A Good Quality And Attractive Late 18th Century, George III Period Rectangular Mahogany Tea Caddy Having Well Figured Veneers To Top, Front And Sides With Attractive Banded Decoration, The Hinged Lid Enclosing Two Lidded Divisions Raised On Original Brass Ball Feet.

A good quality, elegant rectangular Georgian tea caddy which remains in good condition and boasts extremely well figured flame mahogany veneers and extremely attractive inlaid decoration.

Tea was an extremely valuable commodity throughout the course of the 18th and 19th centuries. Therefore of course something was required to store the precious tea leaves in and ensure that they remain in their peak condition for as long as possible, whilst at the same time offering a little security to stop any wandering hands.

This tea caddy comes with a fully functioning lock and key, plus has been cleaned and traditionally waxed polished by our highly skilled and well trained specialist antique furniture restorers in our workshops before being offered for sale.
