A very fine early George III silver wine bottle/ decanter coaster made in London in 1772 by Robert Piercy. The coaster still retains its original mahogany base and has a beautifully hand pierced design surmounted with a gadroon border. A lovely coaster and about as early a coaster as one is likely to find as they are almost unknown before the early 1760s.
