A striking early rococo George II Antique Silver Cake Basket with swing handle of oval form on scroll and leaf feet, the openwork rim cast with fruiting vines and bacchanalian masks.
The sides are pierced with scrolls and strapwork, chased with a band of flowers, scrolls and shells around an applied boss engraved with a coat of arms. The conforming handle with putto terminals and engraved with the armorials of the Capron family.A very attractive early Georgian rococo basket.
