A rare, early 18th cenury parquetry table top spice cabinet unusually veneered in rosewood set in a geometric pattern. The two doors opening to reveal an arrangement of seven drawers and matching rosewood veneers to the insides of the doors.
Although rosewood was inported into this country from the second half of the 17th century, it's early use was usually restricted to small areas of inlay within marquetry panels. This is a rare example of its use to veneer entire surfaces.
