French Empire gilt bronze clock and desk stand.
A charming clock and desk stand with a gilt bronze young boy, astride a patinated bronze dog which carry's a basket of grapes. The boy holds a bunch of grapes in one hand and in the other the key for the clock.
The engine turned oval base incorporates an inkwell or encrier, including a pounce pot and four quill holders.
The whole is of wonderful quality and is shown in the book, La Pedule Francaise, as shown in the images.
