Four Salt Cellars, London 1856, I S Hunt.
A set of four heavy silver-gilt salt cellars of lobed, oval trencher form. Each salt has four eagle supports with laurel wreaths, blue glass liner and is stamped Hunt and Roskell Late Storr and Mortimer.
Engraved with crest of a demi lion rampant with spear and coat of arms. The arms are an early and unauthorised sheld and motto used by Wells City Council, Somerset. They were superseded by a somewhat similar shield officially granted in 1951.
They measure 4" (10cm) long.
