A fine ebony veneered casket inset with ormolu framed panels of Sicilian jasper & lapis lazuli, within borders of black & white marbles. Raised on ormolu feet, the casket has a concealed latch to open & remove the compartment door. Italian, around c.1700. Measures 53cm high x 43cm wide x 33cm deep.
