Meiji-era silk embroidery depicting a pair of cockerels.
A fine Japanese silk embroidery dating from the late 19th Century and depicting a pair of Cockerels. One of the birds in a Bamboo cage with his head out and looking up at the second bird that is off the ground and with it’s wings spread.
It could be that the bird in the cage is a decoy, used to agitate the other. The scene with rich hues of silver, cream and grey.
Condition is very good. In a modern perspex frame. Contact us for further information or to request a viewing.
