A fine Japanese iron box by Komai Late 19th Century.
This decorative Iron box is signed Komai and features wonderful gilt decoration. The cover depicts a spectacular looking peacock in flight and joined by a group of song birds. The sides of the box with butterflies, and the underside and interior of the box with scenes of water birds and wisteria.
