Dated 1713, having embellishment to two sides within and around the classic parterre shaped decorative boarder including;
The initials R.B.S, a double profile portrait of a woman (Presumably Queen Anne) looking left (sinister), a vignette of St George and a horse slaying, with a lance, the Dragon; this scene beneath a crown motif which divides the date 1713. Two further dragon motifs are in evidence in the top section of the cistern.
As expected two holes - both now filled - are evidence of drainage taps.
Condition - some remedial work is required internally, however, overall the cistern is sound and in completely original condition.
