A pair of early 20th century Neo-classical lead dancers.
After models by Antonio Canova (1757 – 1822) Often paired these figures originally carved in marble Canova are known as “Dancer with hands on hips” and “Dancer with hand on chin” with their primary models respectively in the Hermitage and the Galleria Nazionale d ’Arte Antica in Rome. Please note the carved natural limestone plinths are priced separately. Overall height 168 cm Diameter at base 30 cm Height of plinth 64 cm Square at base of plinth 49 cm.
