Ronald Blaes studied at the Academie Royale des Beaux Arts de Bruxelles before leaving his native country in 1976 to settle in southern France.
A poet as well as a painter, his work is deeply personal and is influenced by philosophical and literary sources.
He has exhibited widely since his first show in Brussels in 1972. Many of his works are included in private collections across Europe and in the USA.
