An Extremely Rare Romanesque Sculpture of Madonna and Child. Castile. Circa 1150.
This beautiful Romanesque sculpture has a very calming presence, it retains a lot of its original polychrome decoration, especially to the face and shoulders of Madonna. The sculpture has taken on a wonderful patina with almost 900 years of devotional touching.
A truly rare 12th century sculpture.
