This is an exceptional, good sized and rare silver box by Sibyl Dunlop, one of Britain’s leading inter-war arts and crafts jewellers and silversmiths. It is the second one I have had in the Collection, and I could not be more delighted to find another.
It is beautifully set to four sides with red brown translucent agates, matched with an agate to the lid’s centre set in raised applied silverwork. It is in excellent condition. I have been unable to put it down since acquiring it. It is a really special museum standard piece. Fully hallmarked for 1925.
