The BADA Christmas Gift ListErnest Higgins Rigg "Low Row, A View of the Garden in Spring" oil painting.
Born in Bradford, Yorkshire in 1868, Rigg studied at Bradford College of Art then at the renowned Académie Julian, in Paris. His attractive open air scenes were in the manner of French late nineteenth century painting. He exhibited at RA, RBA, Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool and elsewhere, working in many parts of England. He was a prominent member of the Staithes Group and later lived for a time in Letchworth, Hertfordshire.
"Low Row, A View of the Garden in Spring" is an oil painting on canvas measuring 12" x 18". It is framed giving an overall size of 18"x 24". It is unsigned.
