BADA Gift List - Under £1000Born in Bradford, Yorkshire in 1868, Ernest Higgins Rigg studied at Bradford College of Art then at the renowned Académie Julian in Paris. His attractive open air scenes were in the manner of French late nineteenth century painting. He exhibited at RA, RBA, Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool and elsewhere, working in many parts of England. He was a prominent member of the Staithes Group and later lived for a time in Letchworth, Hertfordshire.
"Hertfordshire Elms" is an oil painting measuring 10"x 14". It is signed lower left and is framed in a quality gilt frame giving an overall size of 14"x 19".
