Mezzotint. Full length portrait of Prince William Frederick, Duke of Gloucester and Edinburgh, KG in military uniform. Engraved by William Say after Sir William Beechey. Lettered with title, production and publication detail: ‘… London. Published April 26 1807 by the Engraver, 92 Norton Street, Marylebone / His Royal Highness William Frederick Duke of Gloucester and Edinburgh'. Visible sheet 71 x 44.5cm. Contained in glazed period frame. 

Prince William Frederick, Duke of Gloucester and Edinburgh, KG, GCB, GCH, PC, FRS (1776-1834) was a great-grandson of King George II of Great Britain and the nephew and son-in-law of King George III. He was the grandson of both Frederick, Prince of Wales (George II's eldest son), and Edward Walpole. Prince William married Princess Mary, the fourth daughter of George III.
