English Regency Paintings of Sisters, Oil on Canvas.
A Pair.
Early 19th Century.
The charming pair of Regency English painting of two sisters remain in their original hand carved black frames. The young girls, with short red hair parted down the middle, appear to be twins each having matching gold loop earrings, coral bead necklaces and high, classic Empire-waist white cotton summer dresses with short sleeves and pleated at the bosom. They each sit on a chair which is partially visible over one shoulder. In the top corner of each painting behind each girl is a tied green velvet curtain.
