Emily Murray Paterson was born in Edinburgh in 1855. She studied at Edinburgh College of Art and was connected to the Glasgow School. She exhibited widely, moving to London in 1917 and was a member of the Society of Women Artists.
This watercolour with body colour "Winter" is a lovely example measuring 10"x 14". It is signed lower right and is in a good quality mount giving an overall size of 18"x 22". It is unframed.
