Antique Malayer rugs of North West Persia are highly appreciated for their craftsmanship and tight weaves. Their designs combine the grand scales of sophisticated workshop pieces and the geometric abstractions of tribal and village weavings.
A beautiful Malayer long carpet with a remarkable tight weave which explains the clarity of its crisp drawing. The rare ivory field compliments the balanced drawing and the variety of charming colour composition including green, light blue, terracotta and grey. The central field is beautifully framed by over seven artistic borders. All the array of natural dyed colours have all aged nicely.
This Malayer is in a very good practical condition for every day use.
