Edwardian Sapphire and Diamond Cluster Ring circa 1920.

An unusual late Edwardian sapphire and diamond cluster ring.

This stylish ring has a central old cut diamond in a slightly raised rubover setting within a border of fancy cut sapphires in a marquise design. The sapphires are mounted in a pavé setting within a rubover platinum border. The ring has an outer border of small diamonds with a pretty scalloped edge.

Typical of the Edwardian era, this elegant ring is set in platinum onto a yellow gold finely detailed underbezel. The ring has platinum faced tapered shoulders which are finely engraved with a 'Greek key' design to each side in yellow gold onto a plain shank.

The ring is beautifully low set to the finger and a fabulous example of Edwardian craftsmanship.

This ring would have been originally designed and made as a 'dress ring' and as such we would not recommend it for 'heavy' everyday wear.

Era: Edwardian, 1901 - 1920.

Measurements: Head of ring 13mm in length, 10mm at widest point.

Central diamond estimated 0.20 carats.

total diamond weight estimated 0.45 carats.

Ring Size: K (UK) 5 1/2 (US) 50 (EUR) This ring can be resized by our goldsmith at no extra cost.

Hallmarks: Unmarked - tests as 18ct gold and platinum.
