Edgar Bundy ARA (1862 - 1922) was an English painter who in his early years learned his craft at the studio of Alfred Stevens. He specialised in historical paintings in oil and watercolour, usually in a very detailed and narrative style, a genre which was very popular in the Edwardian time Bundy lived in. He exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1915 and at the Paris Salon in 1907. In the Tate Gallery is his Royal Academy painting of 1905 entitled "The Morning of Sedgemoor" showing the Duke of Monmouth's rebels resting in a barn before the battle. Influences in Bundy's work include Pre-Raphaelites such as John Millais, William Morris and the works of John Ruskin.

"Sketch of Garden," or "Summer Borders, 3, Acacia Road, St. John's Wood, London" are a lovely and unusual pair of oil paintings by Edgar Bundy. Showing the garden of 3, Acacia Road, St. John's Wood, London, these are freely painted oil sketches by Bundy. On the back of each was an old inscription "Sketch of Garden, 3, Acacia Road, St. John's Wood, London" and "Presented to A. Steven by Mrs Edgar Bundy".

Each painting measures about 21"x 14" and is framed giving an overall size of 27"x 21". They are unsigned.
