Early nineteenth century Elk horn writing-box; the highly-textured exterior enclosing three ivory lidded boxes, a pen trough and a velvet lined writing-slope and further secret compartments and drawers, all with decorative engraved borders and lined with sandalwood in the Anglo-Indian (Viziagapatam) manner. Circa 1830.
