Early 18th Century Spanish Demi-Tester Bed, circa 1720.

Rare, Spanish Demi-Tester, Baroque Bed With Carved, Green Painted and Gilded Posts 181cm, 6ft High.

Floral Painted Leather Headboard, With Gold Velvet and Gilt Embroidered Bedspread, sold with custom made box spring mattress base, accommodates a super-king mattress 6ft, 180cm.

Rare model with four magnificent turned, and carved demi-tester posts, with original green paint and gilding.

The height of the bedposts creates gravitas with sparing form.

Exceptionally rare, period floral polychrome and gilded, leather headboard. The flowers are beautiful and finely painted.

The gold velvet and embroidered bedspread complements the palette and the aesthetic.

Supplied with a custom-made box spring base with cut out corners. Accommodates a super-king mattress, 180cm, 6ft wide.

The bed has been checked over and is sturdy and suitable for regular use. It is easy to assemble, dismantles into the different elements and economical to ship.

Condition report

Good condition. Repaired: removed and replaced old moulding supporting box base mattress, small areas of paint loss retouched, the paintwork has not been refinished. Wear consistent with age and use.
