A DUTCH COLONIAL RELIQUARY LOCKET
Circa 1800.
The double sided silver-gilt locket with an open filigree work border set with semi-precious stones and enamel to one side and pearls and enamel to the reverse.
The removable front with a carved wood head and shoulders profile of a lady in contemporary dress surrounded by a decorative enamel border.
The reverse with a central carved wood panel of a gentleman in profile and leafy branches, a hanging loop on a stepped base to the top.
