Sculptural Collection of Six Life-Size Milliner's Lasts.
Of Stylised Reductive Head Form.
Solid Richly Patinated Elm.
With "Make Do" Metal Repairs.
English, circa 1880.

Various Dimensions.

A wonderful collection of six abstracted Milliner's head forms, with evidence of much use and wear. Fashioned from solid elm, the various sized heads, (individually made for each client), have multiple pin holes, some shrinkage and lead repairs throughout, creating excitingly unique patterns and interesting textured patination. In genuine original "as found" condition, crawling with character and exactly as we would hope to find these historic working head form lasts. Simply sculptural, reductive, and tactile.
