Circa   1725

Painted to the centre with a parrot crest in green and opaque yellow enamel, within a circular scrollwork medallion on an under-glaze blue ground, the cavetto with a rouge-de-fer border and gilt band, the rim with a simple gilt border.

Literature
The crest, according to Fairburn, plate 101, no. 4. is for the De Butts family of which branches may be found in Surrey and Norfolk. Another branch may be found in Maryland, USA, who included Henry De Butts, Adjutant General and Inspector General of the US Army in 1792-3.
