Chinese double peacock platter, Qianlong (1736-1795), of octagonal form with canted corners, decorated in overglaze polychrome enamels in the famille rose palette to the centre with a peacock and peahen perched upon rockwork in a garden setting with flowering peony within a single black line, the rim with a continuous garland of tropical flowers and scrolling foliage.
