Chinese late Ming panel of brocade. Blue background with entwined gilt thread
The central panel shows a pair of gambolling Buddhistic lions around a brocade ball. Above and below the panel are two bands of scrolling lotus and to he top a panel of geometric trellis with lotus and waves
Dark blue was traditionally worn by fourth ranking Imperial Mandarins at court.
