A classic, early, Guild of Handicraft silver butter knife by Charles Ashbee carrying the GofH Ltd mark. The crown end augmented with a good green chysroprase chalcedony stone. A classic example of this iconic design dated 1900.
This butter knife featured in my recent selling Exhibition in October and associated catalogue of the Guild’s silver.
Maker: Guild of Handicraft.
Designer: Charles Robert Ashbee.
Date : 1900.
Marks: GofH Ltd, London, date letter “e”.
Material: Sterling silver, chrysoprase.
Condition: Excellent.
