A characterful Japanese Meiji-era Bronze Okimono depicting Hotei (Circa 1900).
A charming Bronze Okimono, (Circa 1900) in the form of Hotei. Often referred to as the Laughing Buddha, Hotei is one of the Seven Lucky Gods of Good fortune.
He carries a staff in his right hand and his robes are open to the waist displaying an impressive belly.
The figure has a typically cheery expression on his face and has his sack of gifts over his shoulder. He is on a lacquered wood stand.
