An Exceptional Carved Oak Figure of a Knight. Circa 1490-1500.
Dressed in his full suit of armour wearing a typical gothic helmet with large disc shaped ear protectors and an open visor. He is stood upon a grassy mound, his original polychrome decoration remains, he has the most wonderful facial expression. Hands now lacking.
South Netherlands, most probably Antwerp. Circa 1490-1500.
