Black Forest wall mounted Cuckoo and Quail clock in a chalet style stained pine case with Tonbridgeware marquetry decoration and foliate scrollwork.
Raised, ringed chapter ring with bone Roman numerals and original carved hands.
Two small arch top doors opening to a fully articulated quail on the left and a fully articulated cuckoo bird on the right.
Thirty hour weight driven movement, with the quail quarter chiming and the cuckoo, cuckooing and striking the hours on a coiled gong mounted on the back door. C.1880
