Arts and Crafts Cymric Silver Bowl - Archibald Knox.
A rare Arts & Crafts Cymric silver and enamel trefoil footed Bowl, of conical shape, raised on three applied loop feet and decorated with three entrelac lozenges enhanced with green and blue enamel crescents.
Designed by Archibald Knox for Liberty & Co, Birmingham, 1902. Also stamped: 'CYMRIC' & Model No: 2047.
A similar bowl dated 1904, sold at Bonhams, New Bond Street, London, 18/06/2014, Lot 15. £18,750. Another sold at Sothebys, New York, 07/10/2019, Lot 127. $6,875.
A similar bowl but without the enamel can be seen on page 207 of 'Archibald Knox' by Steven. A Martin, 2001. It is identified as 'model 247'.
