Art Deco Mantel Clock
Art Deco mantel clock standing on a cream and grey marble base resting on four brass bun feet supporting an ovoid shaped top housing a gilded diamond shaped bezel.
Gilded dial with Art Deco style numerals and original Art Deco style steel hands, the diual signed ‘A.Leroy, St. Dust-En-Chaussee’.
Eight day French movement striking the hours and halves on a silvered bell, the backplate stamped J.S for Joseph Soldano and numbered 76504. C.1920
‘Watchmakers and clockmakers of the world’ by Brian Loomes lists Joseph Soldano & Fils as working in London from 1863 to 1881, they also had premises in both Paris and Geneva from as early as 1855.
