Sornay created furniture with resolutely modern lines. Influenced by Bauhaus and De Stijl movements.
he belongs to a group of architects, artists and decorators who wished to design new forms, perfectly suited to modern life. He was part of the Union des Artistes Modernes ( an association of modern artists) along with Pierre Chareau, Francis Jourdain, Le Corbusier & Charlotte Perriand.
